Let’s talk about poop. One of the many glamorous parts of being a mom, right?
If you’re an expecting mama or a first time mama with a newborn let me be the first to tell you breastfeed baby poop isn’t too bad (unless you have a blow out). It doesn’t smell, but did you know when it comes to baby’s gut health, the proof is in the poop? From birth, baby’s gut is vulnerable to bad bacteria and if there’s too much bad bacteria in baby’s gut, it results in an elevated poop pH. I’m not asking you pull out pH strips (I’m sure not haha!), but there are some ways to tell if your baby might have an elevated poop pH and gut health issues.
I’ve talked about why we use and love Evivo, you can see my last post here. Now I’m sharing more about the science and a discount code below, so keep reading 🙂 When I mention Owen is 8 months old, people are surprised when I tell them I’m still exclusively pumping. He still receives his Evivo probiotics daily with his breastmilk. I was able to for Ava’s entire first year and that is my goal with him as well. If things change in the next couple months, I’ll update you guys, but that’s the plan for now.
I know every mama wants her child to have the best start and gut health is something that can be easily overlooked as a reason for fussiness, diaper rashes, colic, lack of sleep, and gas. Good bacteria and a happy tummy go hand-in-hand, which is why a probiotic made sense for us. We’ve been using it for 6-7 months and I’m a happy mama knowing I’m helping him in the longterm.

More Information on the science behind Evivo baby probiotic:
There have been studies done to prove that Evivo mixed with breastmilk creates a protective environment in baby’s gut and lowers baby’s fecal pH to a more protective range. Over the past 100 years, the average pH level of a baby’s stool, which can indicate the type of bacteria in baby’s gut. In a clinical study, Evivo’s proprietary strain of B. infantis EVC001 produced rapid, substantial, and persistent improvements in the gut microbiome of breastfed infants. Evivo is the only baby probiotic clinically proven to restore the levels of Bifidobacterium to baby’s gut, reduce potentially harmful gut bacteria by 80%, and return fecal pH to healthy levels.
When using Evivo in the first few months of baby’s life, it is proven to significantly reduce potentially harmful gut bacteria. Those harmful bacteria are linked to short and long term health issues like gassiness, eczema, diaper rash, and colic.
Have you tried probiotics for babies? I’d love to hear your experience.
